Day 3, 050309!

Well, we were supposedly to attend our IS lecture at 9am today but miscommunication occurred so lesson was pushed back , 1300-1700. FOUR HOURS ! Ohmigosh.. So we walked over to MacDonald's for lunch cum breakfast. Okay brunch that is . Teehee, then we headed back to the hostel. It was my first time washing my hair since I've arrived. It's cold alright! Cannot blame me, so I didn't dare to test my limits and shower in the night. Cannot risk my chances of freezing.

The lecture continued for a straight four hours. Our lecturer is Ms Xiao Ling (lao shi). She went on to guide us on the history of China and revealed several interesting facts! Those information really got me on my toes. Did you know that Mao Zedong actually swam across the Yangtze River? In July, but i forgot which year. What's more surprising is that he was 73 at that point in time! Something else that i learnt was that Wuhan is actually based within Hubei! Okay my bad, i didn't know this beforehand. Hmm, what else..

We discussed about Zhu GeLiang. He wasn't born in Hubei but he did lived here for many years. I'm sure most of us have heard of the Red Cliff story. Yes, we were supposed to visit this site BUT... due to unforeseen circumstances, we probably won't be anymore. Many more went on, a hill in Hubei is named after Hua Mu Lan.

Oh I remember another , Qu Yuan. He was the guy who jumped into the river on the fifth day which coincides with the lunar fifth month too. He's a great poet and many respected him and once they knew he did that, they immediately attempted to search for his body via boats but to no avail. The villagers were afraid that the fishes would eat up his body so they threw in food to divert their attention. Hence, this was how the dragon boat festival came about because of this legend. The boat is shaped into a dragon because the Chinese believe that dragon symbolises might. And they beat the drum to try to scare the fishes away. I hope you guys learn something from here yo!

The morning lecture which went futile.
Most workers happen to be ladies! Shoe brushers on the pavement.

Now you see a hairdresser.

Hehehe, Mac for the second time.

There's actually a letter "M" which represents Mac,

See! Cold weather must remember to apply lip balm. It's not supposed to look pouty okay. It is supposed to portray the negative effect of zero application on the lips. Don't tell you who, (lips cracked)

MacDonald's here is 24/7 too! But i suppose they their delivery rounds on bikes?! I meant bicycle.

This ought to be their mailbox. Different shape from ours wor.

This is the first time i weigh 50 kilos! With my boots and everything else on.

Fancy this ? (winks)

This is a jump shot by the way.

And with our fellow China peers.

Wo the Chinese name is Hui Yi and this word here is YI !

Our lecture covered this much, on about 200 slides!

This is Xiao Ling lao shi.

THIS IS MR WONG CHUN CHONG! My mentor.

He attempted to take a secretive shot of her sleeping but she woke up!

Well, he's very friendly. He posed for us! Not shy nono. Even the Xiao Ling lao shi says "wah you guys (students & Mr Wong) seems quite close huh?"

We had dinner out.

And the camera man zoomed in!

Shopping Mall, we went after dinner.
Somehow, dogs are allowed into shopping malls.

We went to the arcade, Seok and I took the merry go round ride! What nice memories to reminiscence from my childhood.

We took bus to the shopping mall however, we cabbed from to the hostel. See the grills? I supposed it's to prevent people from robbing the drivers? Oh yeah , it's left hand drive here.
Be back tomorrow, sleep early!
